“ This is the only good burrito place in Orinda, and I like the menu as it is to the point. Everything is very fresh and the service is great. Lots of vegan options and the staff ask questions about your food preferences which is nice. I bet these guys do pretty well and eventually get a bigger spot. Really a great addition to Theater Square. ”
“ The most delicious birria of Lamorinda! And also Halal! They are trained and understand what needs to be done. ”
“ Delicious food, super kind cashier. Fun music, great decor. They did a huge order for me when they were about to close, which was really kind. I feel so bad - I totally forgot to tip. I highly recommend eating here or getting takeout! ”
“ So good. Love this place. It's quick, reasonably priced, healthy. Please stay in Orinda! ”
“ I always come back for lunch whenever I am in this part of Orinda. It's probably the best food in the area compared to the expensive Indian restaurant down the corridor or the Vietnamese sandwiches across the way. It's fresh, hot, and the price is competitive for the quality you get. I live in the East Bay and there's nothing in the East Bay that compares to this cute taqueria. It's definitely not a pretty place but if you want a tasty and cheap fast meal then it's the perfect place. It was cold today because they don't have heat inside and there's two round metal tables. If you have quests then it's probably better to go and go to a park if it's warm out. We both had shrimp tacos and individual sides of rice and beans. I love that the tacos comes with tons of toppings liked pickled red onions and other pickled veggies and a slice of cool cucumber. They also gave us complimentary chips and salsa. ”
“ Headed to Comelones before dropping off a friend at BART - I've been nursing a mild quesabirria addiction & was lured in by their taco plate. My friend had 1 Asada Taco ($4) and 1 Birria Taco ($4). I ordered the $15 Quesabirria plate & an Ube Horchata ($3.50 for 24 oz ). I'm biased, but I think I made the better call. I was smiling from the second the Quesabirria arrived. The consomme accompanying the quesabirria was perfect - the onions & cilantro were finely diced, to be added to both the tacos & the consomme. The Salsa Verde paired perfectly with everything, and their free chips & salsa were also great. The Ube Horchata was undoubtedly a sugar bomb, but a uniquely delicious one. I used an iPad kiosk to order, which will send a text when your food is ready & an emailed receipt. The lag on the texts were about 20 minutes, and the lag on the receipt was a few hours. Np if you're not depending on the notifications, but I can see where that could get dicey if you weren't sitting & waiting near the counter. The guys cooking the awesome, 5-star food are also running the front counter, with immemorable interactions. If you're looking for anything other than a to-go experience, you may be disappointed. I also found the metal chairs a fitting accompaniment to a pretty chilly dining room. Not super cozy; eating in your car or taking food to-go may prove most comfortable. In all, I did not leave disappointed, and if I lived in Orinda I'd certainly be here more frequently. A return trip for a Shrimp Torta may be in order. See you around! ”
“ 100 tacos in 2024!!! That is how much I love being a Comelone!!! The Asada and the Al Pastor are amazing, and the Carnitas is so so lovely! ”
“ I've been wanting to check this place out for a while now and I'm so glad I did! The staff were so friendly and so patient with me while I decided what to get. I ended up getting small nacho fries with Carne Asada, three quesabirrias, and a ube horchata. I feel like you can never go wrong with nacho fries it had the perfect amount of fries, cheese, meat, and it even came with guac. Quesabirrias are typically too heavy for me, so I don't know who I was ordering three of them. One or two would have been perfectly fine for me on this day. The birria was very tender and the consome was very flavorful and delicious. The ube horchata had my heart, it was so dang good. I really enjoyed the flavor and how sweet it was. I do wish their hot sauces were spicy, but I can also understand considering the demographics they're typically feeding in Orinda. Can't wait to come back! ”
